Driving through Downtown LA near home
I hit rock bottom on August 17, 2020. That particular day, I drew for the first time in years and all the tears came in a flash flood. I will not go into specifics, but COVID upended my life in a way unexpected. The one action of taking out my drawing pencils and sketchpad, the one thing I felt I had control over, resulted in my heart and feelings on paper.

The one catalytic action that started everything
Finally, the storm came to an end. What comes after a storm at times? A rainbow.
On October 25, 2020, I saw the rainbow after a rain storm during my regular journey out into the desert. Life paralled the rainbow, and I felt my heart get lighter. Hope.

Hope in the desert
On the weekend of December 12, 2020, it happened. My mind cleared. That special place I know, I returned to. I followed my true North from my heart. I started looking at Zillow rentals in Los Angeles. Totally unknown that Iād be signing a lease a few days later and moving to the heart of Los Angeles, next to Downtown LA. I sent out a few inquiries then went on my way for a hike in Mount Laguna on Sunday for the return to Whittier.

Where I spiritually recalibrate
Now, here I write this from my studio with the most beautiful sunlight that penetrates the space. I am in the right place, where I exactly need to be. The sun shines again.
Take risks. Believe, show up, and put one foot in front of the other. Each of us has the power to change our lives with just one action to forever change the trajectory. Arrive from your Heart and true North.
