Desert Poetry
By: Lena
Beginning
I feel my soul
An energy force
In hibernation, ready to awaken
To console, as I divorce
From all that was taken
Reminiscing
My long-lost lover
With your sage scent
And desolate heart
Stars as the night cover
In all their brilliance
Where do I start?
A truth discovered
And wild decadence
Nature's work of art
Existence
If the universe is infinite
I am alright with it
If I am to just be
That is okay with me
If there is no point to life
Then I will just enjoy tonight
I am ready to understand
What is difficult to comprehend
A wondrous work of art
Created by a consciousness so smart
For it has always been
As I feel it deeply within
As I get to know thyself
And read my books on the shelf
I look deep within me
It no longer seems like a mystery
The truth deeply buried in my spirit
If I listen, I will feel it
Truth
Alone in my mind
Near the divine
Exploring within
Go inside
Let go of pride
Truth awaits
Unlock the gate
To know thy truth
What the heart craves
Separated long before
Cut into two halves
Wandering lost
The spirit guides
Back to where I come from
Of this earth, like a tree with roots
Thy universal energies surround
Serving as the fulcrum so my strength expands
Ancient consciousness casting gold across the land
Revealing its secrets and treasures
With much pleasure
To set us free
Mission Liberty
To be free
What does it mean?
Letting go
Of all I know
Without looking back
And starting from scratch
To be free
Yes, it’s scary
Fear, uncertainty, doubt
Shut that out
My consciousness
Will never cease to exist
To be free
I finally see
Listen to my inner voice
Back to nature I rejoice
Without society’s chains
I can freely rein
